... I am proud not only to be black but to be African. I was born in Pakistan and raised in Sudan, Switzerland, Ethiopia and Kenya. My upbringing along with my skin color and the state of my hair being natural is part of my makeup that makes me black and beautiful. Shades of black ranges from earthy deep tones and textures of rich deep ebony to tan, camel to the delicious flavors of caramel, milk chocolate, mocha. I love the fact that there are such adjectives that compliment what is already true of us. Euphemisms or not- black is beautiful.
