... the world especially Ghana is abundant with beautiful BLACK people...women, men and children. Our skin is sunkissed, our hair ranges from kinky to curly, our lips and bodies are full. This is what beauty is to me. When I returned to New York I see that same beauty in my sisters here. The range of our complexions, the various hair textures, body types and ethnicities, our endurance even when the slave trade threatened to break us. That one commonality...we are the ascendants (not descendants because we are not descending) of the people of Africa. That is what makes Black beautiful...
